MEMORANDUM


SUBJECT:  Annual Update for Calculating Permit Fees

     In response to Hank Young's request, I have calculated the fee for September 1994.  The
adjusted fee is $ 30.07.  This is based on CPI-Urban Index of 146.90 that represents the 12-
month average for the period of September 1993 through August 1994.  This average represents
the average of 12 data points representing monthly indices for the stated time period.  This is
consistent with the recommendation in the Leland Deck memo, dated November 5, 1991, subject
Inflation Adjustment of Title V Fees.

     I have attached a spreadsheet of the monthly indices for the years starting September 1989
through August 1994.  This spreadsheet also shows the year-by-year adjustment for the fee.  If
